News (application)
Apple News (referred to as simply News) is an application bundled with iOS 9 and later that allows users to read news articles based on publishers and topics they select, such as New York Times, technology, or politics. The technology is designed by Apple Inc. and revealed with iOS 9 at WWDC 2015. The News application was released as a built-in app for iPhones, iPod touches, and iPads alongside iOS 9 on September 16, 2015. At launch, the app was only available in the United States.
As of October 21, 2015, News also became available in the United Kingdom with the iOS 9.1 release.
